Frequently Asked Questions

We gladly receive visitors to our campus throughout the school year and during summer office hours. Please complete this form or contact the school office at 281-373-2233 to arrange a time to tour with our Admission Director, Melissa den Dulk.

We encourage you to visit a variety of our classrooms during the school year to see Classical Christian Education in action and determine if Covenant Academy is right for your child.

We accept applications from transfer students. Transfer students with academic deficiencies may be offered provisional acceptance and will be required to complete requirements outlined in an academic remediation contract. Formal admission may be conferred when remediation and retesting are complete.

Covenant Academy is not authorized by the Department of Homeland Security to issue Form I-20, "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status," to prospective international students.

We are committed to keeping our tuition prices as low as possible. If you have researched tuition prices you have probably noticed that Covenant’s tuition is one of the lowest five-day private Christian schools available in the area. At this point, we are not able to lower the tuition further to provide an additional discount without impacting the resources available to our students. However, we are open to considering this in the future as our school continues to grow.

Families are welcome to apply for tuition assistance, including instances of multiple children. Covenant Academy employs a third party assessment of all tuition assistance applications. Evaluations result in a variety of options for families from a month-to-month payment plan to various percentages of tuition and fees covered. These grants reflect the requests of the family as well as assessment of financial need.

The FACTS Grant & Aid includes each family’s total tuition amount into consideration when determining the assistance that qualified families are recommended to receive.

Applications are available online through our website on the How to Apply page. Once the completed application, all supporting documents, and the application fee are received, you will be contacted by the Head of School regarding your family interview and academic testing.

Your admissions file is begun once we receive your Online Application and application fee. For each individual student, we require the following important forms and documents on or before the family interview:

  • Copy of the Birth Certificate (Pre-K applicants must be 4 years old, and Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by Sept. 1)
  • Copy of the Immunization Records (state law requires that the school have a complete and accurate record of a student's immunization history, including all doses), OR provide a notarized Affidavit Request for Exemption from Immunizations for Reasons of Conscience
  • Copy of the most recent Report Cards/Transcripts
  • Copy of the most recent Standardized Testing Scores
  • Teacher Recommendation Form with Instructions (PDF)
  • New Student Request for Records Letter (PDF)
  • Student Essay: Applicants in grades five (5) and higher complete a one or two paragraph handwritten essay titled, “Why I want to Attend Covenant Academy.”

Applications are accepted at any time; however, applications received in early January will receive priority processing for the upcoming school year. Enrollment decisions will be declared after February 1.

After completion of the family interview and academic testing, the decision for acceptance or denial is made by the Admissions Committee. We are looking for families who will benefit from, and be a benefit to Covenant Academy because of their like-minded goals for their children.

Additionally, we require every student to be academically ready for the Covenant Academy curriculum.  Some students may benefit from completing recommended math and/or language arts tutoring as a contingency to admission.  The grade level teacher will advise new parents and implement a plan to get incoming students prepared, as needed.  Covenant Academy faculty and high school students are available as math tutors and/or language arts tutors and will create a personalized schedule for your student.

Once the Admission Committee makes a decision, you will be notified in writing via email regarding your child's admissions status.  Enrollment is completed and fees are paid electronically via our Online Enrollment portal.

We review applications in the order they are received and placement in an open spot is based on the date of your completed Online Enrollment and payment of your enrollment fees. It is beneficial to make scheduling testing appointments and family interview dates a priority for your class placement in the upcoming school year.

All admissions decisions are communicated via email. If an application is received and accepted for a class that is currently full, your student will be placed on our waiting list. Classroom placement is not reserved until the enrollment in complete and the enrollment fee is paid.

Applications received outside of the typical enrollment deadline will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
