1. Get to know us
To begin the admissions process we recommend that you review our website to learn more about who we are and what we believe. Likewise, if you are not familiar with Classical Education, please visit our Classical Education Resources page and watch the first video presentation titled, "Ancient Future Education." Doing both of these things will ensure an accurate overview of our school and our core beliefs.
2. Visit the School
To learn more about our school and community, please schedule a personal tour of our campus. You may fill out our online Schedule a Tour form or call the admissions office. Tours of the school generally last 20 minutes long with time left at the end for answering questions. We will also invite you to attend an Open House, Shadow Day or other events listed on our Important Dates page.
3. Submit an Application
Your admissions file is begun once we receive your Online Application and application fee. For each individual student, we also require the following important forms and documents on or before the family interview:
- Copy of the Birth Certificate
(Pre-K applicants must be 4 years old and Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by Sept. 1)
- Copy of the shot record
- Copy of the most recent Report Cards/Transcripts
- Copy of the most recent Standardized Testing Scores
- Teacher Recommendation Form with Instructions (PDF)
- New Student Request for Records Letter (PDF)
- Applicants in grades 5 and higher complete a one or two paragraph handwritten essay titled “Why I want to Attend Covenant Academy.”
4. Complete Student Testing
Once we receive the application, you will be contacted in order to schedule a testing appointment for each student. All students are required to take an academic assessment administered by one of Covenant’s teachers. Testing time takes from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the grade level.
5. Partner with Us
It is our desire to partner with your family in the education of your students. We want you to embrace our school culture and our classical model of schooling. To ensure this happens, we require that every parent read the following:
Both of these documents will be discussed during the family interview.
6. Schedule and Attend the Family Interview
The family or parent interview is the final and most crucial part of our application process. Once your child(ren) has completed his/her student testing, you will be contacted to arrange a date and time for your family interview. This is the time for us to get to know one another better and a time for you to ask questions. We want nothing more than success for each and every student and we believe a partnership between school and parents is the best path to success. Students typically do not attend the interview and we understand when other arrangements cannot be made.
Applications are accepted for new students at any time. We review applications in the order they are received and placement in an open spot is based on the date of your completed Online Enrollment and payment of your enrollment fees. It is beneficial to make scheduling testing appointments and family interview dates a priority for your class placement.
All admissions decisions are communicated via email once the Family Interview is complete. If an application is received and accepted for a class that is currently full, the student will be placed on our waiting list. Classroom placement is not reserved until the enrollment fee has been paid.
